Quarries and recycling facilities around Ohio depend on the rugged and highly productive KPI-JCI FT2650 Pioneer® Jaw Crusher Plant, which offers up to 25% more hourly capacity than competing models.

“The plant is very popular in concrete recycling and virgin limestone quarry applications,” said Bob Stewart, Columbus Equipment Company Environmental Division sales rep. It can also be used in sand-and-gravel applications.

The FT2650 has a capacity range up to 400 tph, far surpassing many competing units. It has a feed opening of 26″ peak-to-peak on jaw dies by 50″ wide.

“The crusher has an aggressive, durable jaw, with a class leading 1.25-inch stroke and is the best in the industry. It can also be run in reverse to aid in clearing a blockage,” Stewart added.

Large, dynamically-balanced flywheels add to the robust crushing action. The flywheel design requires less peak horsepower than many competitors, resulting in lower cost-per-ton production.

Another feature that sets the Pioneer® plant apart from the competition is the patented tramp iron relief system. Stewart highly recommends the optional system that “allows tramp iron to pass through the jaw with substantially less chance of damaging the machine.”

The track-mounted, self-contained plant can be moved around the job site with a wireless remote without exiting your cab. The under-crusher conveyor is easy to remove for maintenance. An optional pre-screen is available to separate out fines, and a side conveyor is also available.

“The plant is made in Yankton, South Dakota, so parts are readily available. There are no tariffs or waiting on overseas shipments, which owners of foreign-made brands frequently have to deal with,” noted Stewart, who is also on the board of directors of the Ohio Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Association.

As an Astec Industries company with nearly a century of experience making jaw crushers, Astec Inc, KPI is an industry leader in building reliable, durable plants that reduce ownership costs. For instance, the FT2650 uses reversible jaw dies and common side liners that fit both sides of the jaw, resulting in fewer wear parts owners need to keep on hand.
