Link-Belt’s new 75RT rough-terrain crane is the first Link-Belt equipped with V CALC, short for Variable Confined Area Lifting Capabilities, which helps operators select the best outrigger configuration for any location. This new feature allows the crane operator to see the crane’s lifting capacities based on how the outrigger beams are set.
Outriggers—which can be fully retracted, intermediate, or fully extended—can be set in pairs either from side to side or front to back, depending on space available. Once the outriggers are set in one of 12 different configurations, Link-Belt’s Pulse 2.0 operating system provides previews that include workable areas and a percentage of the crane’s real-time available capacity. The system will also show what’s possible at the next five radiuses for a given boom angle.

“In addition to unprecedented pick data, the 75RT includes an all-new operator’s cab that offers increased comfort and improved visibility for safety and productivity,” said Bob Weber, head of Columbus Equipment Company’s Lifting Division. The tilting cab lifts the operator up to 20 degrees for increased visibility, he noted. Link-Belt’s Vision camera package also helps operators monitor their work area with cameras that show a view of the right side of the upper, the main and auxiliary winch, and a backup view.
To keep operators comfortable and working longer, the cab includes a 10-inch touch-screen display for crane functions, upgraded climate control, a larger ergonomic seat, and increased interior lighting.
Like all Link-Belt cranes, the 75RT is easy to tear down, assemble and transport. In fact, this rough terrain crane can transport fully equipped at less than 100,000 lbs. With an overall height under 12-foot-3-inches, it can be driven right off a lowboy trailer and be ready to work as soon as the counterweight is assembled.
